Overview

Lemosho starts in lush, fertile rainforest. It is the first ecological zone you encounter on Kilimanjaro (we will trek through four). The route heads up and across the Shira Plateau, which used to be Kilimanjaro’s third peak before it collapsed. Then, we make our way north to Moir Hut, which serves as a great acclimatization day due to short hikes than can be done in the nearby Lent Hills. So 2 Days hiking will give you enough experiences for hiking in Kilimanjaro.

DAY 1: ARUSHA - LEMOSHO ROUTE
Londorossi Gate (2375m) - Shira 1 (3720m)
Hiking time: 2-3 hours
Habitat: Moorland
Today you will be pick up from Arusha and drive to Londorossi gate leave camp and make your way out of the forest. You will take a steep track into a savanna of tall grasses, heather (ornamental plant), and volcanic rock draped with lichen beards (tree moss). Ascend through the lush rolling hills below the Shiru Plateau, finally reaching camp at the edge of the plateau where you can see a view of Kibo Peak.

Main Destination: Mount Kilimanjaro

Accommodation: Budget camping

DAY 2: LEMOSHO - ARUSHA
Today you will have 1hr hiking and later you will descending to Londorossi gate
Meet our driver and drive back to Arusha. Breakfast and lunch provided.
