Overview

Day 1: Zanzibar – Nyerere National Park – Full-day game drive

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transferred to the airport for your scheduled domestic flight to Nyerere National Park.

Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will meet your professional safari guide and begin an exciting full-day game drive across the park’s diverse landscapes, including open plains, woodlands, lakes, and river channels. Nyerere National Park is home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in East Africa, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush while surrounded by the beauty of the African wilderness before continuing with your afternoon game drive in search of more wildlife.

In the evening, proceed to your lodge or luxury tented camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Walking safari – Boat safari – Flight back to Zanzibar

Start the day with an early morning guided walking safari accompanied by an experienced guide and armed ranger. This unique experience allows you to explore the African bush on foot while learning about animal tracks, native plants, birds, and the ecosystem of the park.

After the walking safari, return to the lodge for breakfast before departing for a scenic boat safari along the Rufiji River. The river is famous for its large populations of hippos and crocodiles, as well as spectacular birdlife and breathtaking scenery.

After lunch, transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Zanzibar, where you will be transferred back to your hotel upon arrival.
